eating for the weekend.

basically all we did all weekend was eat. and it was glorious.

on friday night, we hit up truckaroo, a big food truck festival in d.c. one of the great tragedies of working in the commonwealth of virginia is that food trucks never come out our way. i am always so jealous when i hear people talking about their food truck lunches, so i decided to make the most of truckaroo since it's basically my one shot at food truck bliss. and by make the most of it, i mean that AWD and i had three dinners: curry from fojol brothers, lobster rolls from maine lobster (maine-style for him and connecticut-style for me and totally worth the mega-long line), a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich (with brie and apple and honey!) from the big cheese and a snickerdoodle cupcake from curbside cupcake to top it all off.

yes, i felt like i was going to ralph.

and yes, it was totally worth it.

saturday morning EH and amy and i headed over to crafty bastards to check out the wares (nothing too inspiring) and then it was general conference for the rest of the weekend. the weather was gray and rainy and cold, so curling up at home and listening to such inspiring talks from such inspiring leaders was a perfect way to pass the time.

plus, we kept eating. namely, potato and leek soup, pumpkin-oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls, which did not come out as well as i had hoped, but better luck next time.

i rounded out the weekend with a girls' night out for the help (loved it) and cupcakes from buzz afterwards (always a good choice).

and now i weigh 5,000 pounds. or at least i feel like i do.

this morning i put my husband on a plane to florida, where he'll be testifying in a trial for work. (he's such a big deal!) i figured it would be totally fine because it's not like we've been married for that long and i managed to survive without him for a lot of years before he came on to the scene, but it's been less than 24 hours and it already pretty much sucks. i'll be glad when he comes back.

in the meantime, i guess i'll drown my woes with leftover cookies and a trashy novel.

Sounds like a great weekend. I loved conference. And I think being apart stinks- but it's also nice to realize just how much we love 'em.
